Leadership Training is a summer program devoted to serving Collegiate local churches in the discipleship and leadership development of college students, ministry leaders, and future church planters.
The challenge.
Taking a look at Western Christianity, most who claim to be Christians are not making a significant impact on the people around them. Instead of influencing the world for God through their lives, as Christ says believers will in Matthew 5:13-16, the majority have assimilated to the culture to the point that their lives are undistinguishable from anyone else’s.
Jesus not only laid out His expectation of personal and cultural impact, He also set the example for us. So, why aren’t Christians acting like Jesus?
“The primary reason that people do not act like Jesus is because they do not think like Jesus. Behavior stems from what we think –our attitudes, beliefs, values, and opinions,”
—George Barna, in Think Like Jesus.
What if you said yes to a summer learning to lead like Christ?
The call.
Many of us aren’t acting like Jesus because we need reminders on how to do so. Whether we are a new believer, a long time follower, or even a leader of others, the call is the same. We must renew our minds.
"Romans 12:2 clearly expresses God’s desire for us,” Barna continues. “We must intentionally turn our back on the world and aggressively develop a mind the world is incapable of recognizing. We are exhorted to undergo not just a change but a transformation. That’s what a biblical worldview does to us; it is an intellectual re-birthing of the person akin to the spiritual re-birthing that occurs in our soul when we embrace Christ as our savior.”
The problem is there are so many things trying to capture our minds. Through information, practices, and being empowered, we believe that LT is the perfect length to start a renewal and growth process.
This renewal process is there to help you learn to lead yourself and to serve others in the name of Jesus.
Why LT?
Leadership Training is a summer program devoted to serving Collegiate local churches in the discipleship and leadership development of college students, ministry leaders, and future church planters.
What that means is we exist to help grow college students and ministry staff as leaders. And we believe leaders for Christ will change the course of history. Leaders encourage others to Romans 12:2.
But what is a leader? It’s probably not what you think.
The LT program exists to help parse out Christian leadership. Whether it be of yourself, of others, or leading leaders, LT exists to help us to grow and to serve like Jesus with others.
All of this to shape the next generation towards Jesus.
The primary audience for an LT program is students, ministry leaders, and future planters from one of the churches within Collegiate Church Network. It's a chance to gain momentum as a movement and for you to be trained in Christian leadership.
Over the course of LT, we want to impart perspectives and skills to grow you as a leader for Christ in your church and beyond.
LT is all about serving like Jesus with others
We believe that Christian leadership starts with serving, is character based, and interdependent. The LT program has 2 imperatives with 6 total objectives to help us grow in this type of leadership.
Lead Yourself
Grow in Personal Devotion to Jesus
Grow in Christlike Character
Explore Spiritual Gifting
Serve Others
Develop a Steward’s Mindset

Collegiate Church Network.
The LT programs are put on by Collegiate Church Network. Collegiate is an association of 20 churches in Ohio, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Texas, Florida, California, and Virginia. These churches share a common vision to plant and grow collegiate churches devoted to the Great Commission.
Collegiate plants and grows collegiate churches devoted to the Great Commission. Through bold proclamation of the gospel, intensive leadership development, and focused church planting, we’re building a network of churches that will greatly influence this country and the world for Jesus Christ. This is where Leadership Training comes in.
